Oakland YMCA Chess Bulletin

Vol. 1 No. 1, March 1959 The 1st Club Championhip has started. Our CFNC team drew with the Oakland Hilltoppers 3-3. Richard Shorman will be the editor for the next issue, with special assist from George Koltanowski.

Vol. 1 No. 2, April 1959 The 1st opening tournament, using the Pirc Defense, was won by Donald Stone. Paul Vayssie and H. L. Stradley were 2nd and 3rd.

Vol. 1 No. 3, July 1959 The Oakland Hilltoppers won the Oakland YMCA Team Tournament on June 23rd. August 9th is George Koltanowski Day at Sonoma's Valley of the Moon Chess Festival.

Vol. 1 No. 9, October 1959 The Annual East-West Match will be held at the Hayward CC on October 25th. Richard Shorman won the 'B' section of the recent San Jose tournament.

Vol. 2 No. 1, January 1960 On December 9th, the Oakland YMCA CC team drew the Pleasant Hills CC team (2-2). The new Oakland YMCA CC Championship will start this month.
